Just found this in my inbox and thought I would share, as I started the whole “innojagd” I often got/get asked what type of innovations and my answer is always “every type” of innovation so with this mail I thought I could at least give you a focused challenge to play with as well!

The non-profit Seeker organization, First12, is interested in gaining the help and input of the Solvers in order to build a web-based tool for efficient discovery of open educational resources found on the web. The impact of this work has the potential to be dramatic. The resulting solution could be an important platform component for 21st century learning systems and have applications in both developing and developed countries. The solution could potentially both increase the viability of individualized education, and decrease the cost of delivering relevant learning resources.

This one has a $10,000 prize attached so have a look at the challenge!

Today’s show I was joined by Martin Gillet, Michael Koch, Dennis Howlett, Jon Reed and Leonardo De Araujo. These 5 individuals all SAP Mentors, all friends (as well as my friends) and all passionate members of the SAP communities have put together their thoughts, opinions and ideas around the SAP Education and Certification programs. They didn’t complain but they pointed out what they felt was not working and gave solid examples on how SAP could make modifications to improve the programs. The show was one of the longest single topic shows I’ve done and I’m sure we could have kept going – it’s an amazing bunch of guys who through their own dedication inspired me as well! If you are in any way active in a community or are passionate about a specific topic I suggest you invest a little time in what they guys have done!

I’ve been working with Sarah now for a the past few weeks around the topics of reputation and community and we finally had a chance to record this short conversation to let the broader community know about what she is working on and of course how they themselves can participate!

I’ve always considered research, knowledge sharing and exploration a major part of a successful community and so it’s been my pleasure to get a chance to work with so many young students focused on those aspects in relation to the communities I have been involved with.

To get in touch with Sarah and participate in her research you can find her at the following addresses: http://www.sarahotner.com or http://uk.linkedin.com/in/sarahotner or http://openid.sap.com/SMGOtner
