When a title for a show was ever fitting this was it, especially since I had something completely different in mind when I decided on the topic for the show. However I decided on Thursday to migrate this site as well as 3 others of mine to Rackspace Cloud Mosso and wouldn’t you know it but all hell broke loose with DNS changes.

I was online with support for quite a while but in the end they scrambled and about 20 mins before the show they manually entered all the needed DNS records to make sure the site was visible and working. Of course this also meant that up until about 5 minutes before the show I was busy fixing things I missed when migrating from my old server. Just like with email, I feel/fear a time is coming that we will honestly and truthfully see a need to use multiple micro-blogging platforms. Dennis in a recent post has started to lean in that direction and I myself have been lately as well.

Micro-blogging/messaging platforms have huge value but like email they are ripe for spam attacks as well as spammers. The number of “followers” I get lately with bios talking about making money quick is increasing and gives me the feeling it’s the 90’s all over again and people have found a way to keep me from throwing away a piece of paper delivered to my house. SPAM filters took care of the digital paper so what’s going to take care of the micro-paper?
